Gentle Yin yoga offers an opportunity to surrender, slow down and come back to balance.
Most of the poses are seated, supine or prone and they are held,
with muscles relaxed for up to 5 minutes.
It is believed by Yin theorists that remaining muscularly passive for long periods of time
gently stretches connective tissue, which may otherwise become stiff and less mobile as we age. The Yin asanas focus on the dense connective tissue of the lower back, hips and spine.
Yin yoga includes powerful mental and emotional benefits as its practitioner becomes quiet, still and aware of the present moment.
